Skin Care Review: Glymed Plus

by Wendy Sparacino, Baton Rouge, LA USA

Rating
No effect

Benefits
Absorbed quickly. Not heavy or greasy. Fragrance free and made your skin feel soft.

Drawbacks
The glycolic and lactic acids sting. Spent $300 and did not see any noticable improvement.

Details
I bought this line of products from the salon where I had microdermabrasion sessions done (four total - $85/ session). I was told to wait a month before returning for another treatment. My next three were a week apart. My skin is normal/oily and fair complex with a few sun spots and freckles. I will be 30 this year and just had a baby and my skin seems to have changed. Initially I enjoyed the products. They made my face feel smooth and were not heavy. I used the cleanser, hydrating mist, living cell clarifier, AHA accelerater (glycolic and lactic acid - also in the cleanser) and a repair cream at night from Cell Science ( another company that produces Glymed also). The benefits were immediate fresh feeling and they did not leave a heavy residue. After applying my skin almost felt like I had nothing on it- I guess it absorbed quickly. I spent about $300 on the suggested products. The AHA accelarator had a slight sting when applied and did not go away for several minutes unless immediately followed by the repair cream. After two months and the four sessions of micro I have not really noticed any significant changes in my complexion. I was hoping to reduce pores, eliminate blackheads and deminish my few wrinkles around my eyes that are forming. The AHA ingredients made my skin shed a little but even the micro results were disappointing. My pores might be a little less noticeable but that is about it. I am on this website trying to understand ingredients and their benefits. I was able to get a refund and am considering making my own products but am still researching. I am trying to decide if a TCA peel and my DIY products wouldn't give me the drastic improvement I am looking for. So far the information I have obtained has been very helpful and I thank you. Please write me back with your thoughts on the TCA peel if possible. Also I am wondering if I wanted to make creams using all of the suggested ingredients how should I do it and when should I apply each? And what do I use as a cleanser?

Conclusions
It seems that it is more cost effective and beneficial to create your own products.
