After an unsuccessful series of IPL RF treatments a year ago, I did some research and decided on Fraxel to try to eliminate the age/sun spots that seem to have taken over my face and hands. The IPL treatments had left me worse off than before the treatments.

I have recently completed the 4th of 4 Fraxel treatments and I cannot believe how much better my skin looks. I am 57 and I cannot remember when my skin has looked so good. My doctor says that the benefits will continue for several more months as deeper healing/reconstruction occurs.

The first 2-3 days after each treatment are the worst. There can be a lot of swelling and redness, which reqires almost continuous ice packs; although, Arnica Montana helped keep my swelling down. After that the skin peels like after a bad sunburn, which is when you begin to notice the initial benefits.

This is not a "lunch hour" treatment, but the results can be remarkable.

Conclusions
Fraxel is one of the best laser skin treatments available. The downside is the cost.
