Skin Care Review: Allergan Prevage 1%

by Anonymous

Rating
Adverse Effects

Benefits
For me, none whatsoever

Drawbacks
I developed a thick, itchy rash from this product

Details
I applied prevage to my entire left arm over a period of 10 days, before using it on my face. The manufacturer clearly cautions new users to do a patch test somewhere on one's body, I wanted to do a large enough area so that I could clearly gauge the results. I used one smallish squirt of product and covered entire left arm with it. I used my right arm as a "control"...no product applied. My thoughts being that results with skin products are often subtle and subjective... one has a tendency to "forget" what the original texture and tone of the skin was like. With my right arm unaffected by product, I could more easily compare results. Things progressed with no noticeable difference, until the tenth day. I awoke to intense itching, red and oatmeal textured skin on my test arm. I do not have "sensitive" skin, or any food/airbourne allergies, so you can imagine my surprise. After about a week of symptoms which continued unabated, I applied a capsule of natural Vitamin E and s Squirt of C serum, also some K. This stopped the itching dead, and soothed the redness. Beware of this product, if you decide to purchase it, test if for at least 10 days on someplace other than your face.

Conclusions
Too expensive to fool with.
