Skin Care Review: DHC Vitamin C Essence

by PD

Improves skin color, texture, and overall appearance

My face can get red and itchy if I put more than a few drops on.

I'm quite pleased with the DHC Vitamin C. It has 8% magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, tube packaging, and a small, simple set of ingredients.

I have sensitive skin and wanted to try a gentle form of Vitamin C to improve my skin's appearance and prevent future problems (it had become blotchy after some reactions to other products). First I tried L-ascorbic acid (Kiehl's 10%), but got small red pimples - maybe the cylcopentasiloxane is an issue for me.

The DHC Vitamin C Essence has been good. It's quite watery, and I have to be careful to put only 2-3 drops on my face, but that's enough, and it's easy to do every night before I apply my moisturizer.

DHC Vitamin C Essence seems to be an effective, gentle product that I'll keep using.
