Skin Care Review: Skin Medica TNS Recovery Complex

After one month of using Retinol gel, I noticed a difference in the texture of my skin. However, my dermatologist recommended Skin Medica's TNS Recovery Complex serum. This "wonder" serum is reputed to produce the same results as Retinol, but in 3 months time, rather than the average 6 months with Retinol.

I tried it for a month and I really didn't like the product. Firstly, the product smells like you're sniffing shoes belonging to someone with very bad foot odor. Secondly, the product made my skin very dry and very, very tight, emphasizing my wrinkles. I had to slather on a lot of moisturizer so my face wouldn't crack if I should happen to sneeze. And then I would have break outs, possibly from using more moisturizer and sunscreen. (You must wear sunscreen if you are using this product.)

I actually saw a reversal in my skin's condition after using this product. I don't know -- perhaps it's suppose to get worse before getting better. But at $135 for 1/2 an ounce (a month's supply), I'm not sure if my money will be well spent to continue for another 2 months in hopes of better results.
