It protects against free radical damage, firms the skin, and accelerates cell turnover.

Drawbacks
The texture. There is alcohol in the serum so it tends to be drying.

Details
Oily, Mid-Thirties, Skin Type IV on the Fitzpatrick Scale with minor sunspots.

Foundation doesn't work well for me so I focus on skincare.

Phloretin CF is effective, but not my favorite of the three I've tried. I didn't see as much improvement with my sunspots compared to the CE Ferulic or the Serum 20 AOX. Nor did it seem to provide as much sun protection as the other two. I thought that the Phloretin would help even out my skin but the alcohol in it may have caused flaking and dryness instead. Dry patches are unusual for me even in winter. It also never seemed to absorb as well as the others even after exfoliation. Perhaps it was the accelerated turnover that caused the flaking, but I'm unwilling to go through a second bottle to see if it improves.

Conclusions
Worth trying if you're curious, but please consider a hydrator and or moisturizer.
