I tried Mederma on a 5 year old keloid scar. Per package instruction, I applied a thin layer at least 2 times a day. During the two months that I was using Mederma, the scar did indeed looked like it was improving. The scar area become pinkish, I thought this meant a healing process was occurring. After I used up the tube, I didn't buy another. After a few days, I was disappointed to find that my scar plumped back to its old self. It seems that applying a thin layer of the product over the scar only made the scar looks flattened. The effect was temporary.
Conclusions
Product seemingly created only an illusion that my keloid scar is flattening.
