I had a relatively deep chin scar (from childhood bikefall) that was very purple in color. Using Mederma for about 2 months, turned the once hideous deep, purple scar into a slight discoloration and shallow dent. I don't think anyone even notices it anymore - not even me.

I hated the smell and that it dried out quickly, leaving a crusty layer on my skin, so I only used it at night.

Results aren't 100% replacement with perfect skin but will substantially minimize how obvious the scars are to the casual observer.

Conclusions
Works very well on purple-colored, deep scars
