Skin Care Review: Mary Kay Velocity Cleanser and Moisturizer

by Anonymous

Acne disappearing, skin soft and smooth

More expensive than drug store stuff

My 12-year-old daughter has oily skin and trouble with acne, especially along the hairline and on her chin. We tried Clearasil facial wipes and cream first, to no avail. After we switched to Pro-Activ for a few months, we realized that part of the reason nothing was working was that she wasn't using it like she should. She didn't like the smell and if she didn't see immediate results she gave up.

A friend sells Mary Kay, and invited us over for a consultation, where my daughter got to try the Velocity product. She liked the smell of it (it's lightly fragranced) and saw an immediate smoothing and softening of her skin. She's been using it (along with the Mary Kay acne cream), night and morning, for a month now, and the results are wonderful. She has fewer pimples, hardly any new breakouts, and her skin is smooth and beautiful. She never forgets to do her face like she used to.

I think the other preparations may have worked as well if she'd stuck to them, but this one has been absolutely wonderful. There were several factors contributing to her success with this product: 1) the nicer smell, 2) the soft feel, 3) the fact that she has a friend who uses it, 4) the fact that it was someone else's mom and not her own that suggested it. ;) I hope she keeps using it throughout her "pimple time" and I'm going to give it to her sister and brother as well when they're older.

It's a very nice product and worth the price.
