Skin Care Review: Natural sea sponge

by Anonymous

Rating
Good

Benefits
Ease of use, gentle on skin

Drawbacks
some sponges more gentle than others

Details
I have not used soap on my face for 3 years. Essentially, when showering, I either just rinse my face some mornings, or I use a sea sponge and use it sparingly, mostly on my forehead and nose. I only use the sponge for my face. I have been happy with the results. Recently, my skin has been drier and flakes on my forehead sometimes so I have to use a moisturizer on my face (which I think is actually a hand lotion, Vaseline Intensive Care Total Moisture Dry Skin Formula). I do not have an acne problem, but do have blackheads on my nose and other areas that concern me intensely. Several years ago, my regimen was to use an exfoliating scrub on my face daily. During that time, my sister said she thought the imperfections and such in my face became more pronounced. Since then I have searched for the correct skin care procedures and at some point, I concluded that, in general, nature takes care of most things and that washing my body everyday with deodorant soaps and other things (I work in an office and don’t get visible dirt) may be working against my body’s natural oils and protectants. I was happy to read on your site that warm water is the best face cleanser.

Conclusions
I recommend sea sponges
