Skin Care Review: One With Nature Dead Sea Salt Soap

by Selki

Rating
Excellent

Benefits
All natural. Gentle, but cleanses well, and did not dry out my skin.

Drawbacks
None

Details
About me: 35 years old, female, combination sensitive skin with frequent flakiness in the oily areas

About the product: I got this bar soap, initially, as a free sample from Whole Foods Market. One With Nature makes several different varieties of bar soaps, but I appreciate that this one does not have any added fragrance. I've recently been trying to find a natural facial care routine that is more nurturing for my skin, and I decided to try double cleansing -- using an oil as the first step and a gentle bar soap (or other foaming cleanser) as the second step. I have been using the Dead Sea Salt Soap for my second cleansing step and I really like it. The ingredients are all natural, so no harsh chemicals. Its lather is very luxurious and dense -- a pleasure to use. It has no added fragrance, so it smells like plain soap with a slightly salty note. While I don't think this soap is particularly moisturizing, it does cleanse my skin nicely (removes the oil residue from the first cleansing step) and does not leave it feeling dry afterwards (though I do follow immediately with an alcohol-free toner and a moisturizer). Also, I haven't had any breakouts thus far while using this soap. I liked it enough to buy a full size bar of this "flavor" and of the Dead Sea Mud "flavor" as well (which I haven't tried yet).

Conclusions
All natural, gentle, effective, non-drying cleanser. Definitely recommend!
