I began using this when I was on vacation, and everyone was amazed at how great my skin looked. I experience very occasional cystic acne lesions and this makeup does NOT cause them to flare up - much the opposite. When I got lazy (it's a little more time consuming that just slapping on a coat of Lancome Dual Finish!), I ended up with zits every other week! I thought it was hormonal - given my age - and tried everything short of prescription drugs - as it was not the cystic acne of past. I was totally frustrated, and thought I'd just try the Bare Escentuals again...and guess what - whatever existing zits I had, dried up, flaked off and left no scar, and I haven't had a zit for a month! Go for it, I'd strongly suggest the starter kit as you get two shades to figure out which is best for you. I like to use both shades - light and barely light - for example - switching by season.
