Skin Care Review: Estee Lauder Idealist Skin Refinisher

by Andrea, Portland, OR USA

Within seconds of the first application of the Idealist non-acid exfoliator by Estee Lauder, I could see and feel an improvement in my skin. It was a shock at first because the dead skin just flaked off, leaving only healthy, smooth skin behind. I had no idea I was in such need of a *real* exfoliator. My boyfriend even noticed! [:)] Because it is non-acid, I can use it twice a day, everyday and never feel a burning or stinging as I do with other products such as those using alpha-hydroxy. After using it a week (and not everyday as they actually recommend) my skin is clearer with literally *no* blemishes, my pores appear smaller (though I was told by the Estee Lauder representative that no product can change your pore size, but only appear to). My makeup goes on smooth and evenly because I don't have "patches" of dead skin that holds the makeup differently than other areas. The first application of Idealist showed the most change because of the accumulation of dead skin cells on my face, but after using it more frequently, I had (of course) less to exfoliate so the results were less dramatic -- and of course my skin looked better already anyway! I would definitely recommend at least getting a sample application of this product. (and just for your info, I am in no way affiliated with Estee Lauder or any cosmetic company. I am a software engineer and I just happened to stumble on this product when I signed up for a free makeover at the Estee Lauder counter in the mall).
