Skin Care Review: Aloette Peptide Exfoliant

by Fran Miller, Seattle, WA, USA

Rating
Excellent

Benefits
To exfoliate and moisturize skin

Drawbacks
Didn't really have any.

Details
I have rosecea and psoriasis and for years had the most awful red irritated complexion. I am very leary of trying new products especially exfoliants. I have used Epicuran, La Mer, Emminence and Aloette. I like all of the lines I mentioned but not necessarily their prices. Aloette seems the most reasonable and available to me, so when this new product came out recently, I decided to try it. Slowly of course, my first trial was on the backs of my hands. I was quite surpised. It smelled really good and while it was grainy, it was not harsh at all. The directions are to rub the cream into your skin for one minute and then leave the the cream on your face for 5 minutes. Then rinse with tepid water. Wow, the back of my hands felt really smooth and moist and smelled really good. Next I tried the same process on my left jaw - not wanting to upset my semi-calm skin on my cheeks - and afterwards it felt smooth and soft. I waited 24 hours before trying the full face application, but when I did, I was very surprised. The product is grainy - and I expected some redness and irritation from the roughnees of the cream. There was none. I also expected some stinging after a couple of minutes - there was none. It didn't dry my skin out or make me break out or turn red. The recommendation for my type of skin (sensitive) is once a week, but if I had normal skin I would use the product 3-4 times a week. I really liked it and thought it was worth the money. And it only took about 7 minutes.

Conclusions
I Recommend this as a good exfoliant/moisture masque with a terrific smell.
