Skin Care Review: Cosmelan by Mesoestetic
by Sheila Kimmel
This product was supposed to lessen wrinkles at edge of mouth going downward.
Quite irritating. It stung on contact and and was a bit itchy as it peeled.
My skin is mature with few signs of sun damage. Although the product peeled well, very similar to tazarotene gel at .1%, it did not accomplish the intent. This treatment came after 4 microdemabrasions, some with lesser peels. It took about a week to complete the peel. It stung on application. The esthetician lengthed the peel another week with bleach and peel cream which peeled and made the skin quite red. All in all it was a total of three weeks before my skin totally returned to normal. Went to the dermatologist who had me stop all procedures and expressed concern about possible scaring, which didn't occur. The wrinkles are somewhat diminished but can still be felt.
Forget the peel. Go for a laser treatment at a dematologist's office.
