Skin Care Review: Blepharoplasty - eyelid lift

by Kay, Chicagoland, IL, USA

Rating
Excellent

Benefits
Tightened droopy upper eyelids

Drawbacks

Details
At the age of 41 (not especially young for this type of procedure) I had droopiness of my upper eyelids which no topical treatment could cure. I considered thermage, but because of so many mixed reviews here and elsewhere (and not a huge difference in cost) I elected to pay for surgery. I am so glad I did - I am ecstatic with the results - it took 10 years off my appearance. My comments are: (1) Be sure to get a board certified physician, if possible in both plastic surgery and ophthalmology (I didn't want a doctor who did other kinds of surgery); (2) as Dr T says, extra care will be required from now on - this procedure usually cannot be repeated, so diligent use of sunscreen and other protection will be needed. (3) There was no pain, and recovery was fast (1 week) since my Dr used a radiofrequency device for cutting, not a laser or a scapel, and this causes less damage at the incision site. I wish I had been able to find more reviews about this procedure, so I wrote this for someone who is looking to fix this single problem, not end up looking different, but really look refreshed and younger. Others on this site have mentioned thousands spent on creams which didn't work. If you've found this site you are wise with your money (even if you learned the hard way). This was a great investment for me.

Conclusions
Not for everyone, but could be your perfect solution.
