Skin Care Review: Thermage

by R, Harrison Township, MI USA

Rating
Adverse Effects

Benefits
supposed to firm and rebuild collagen in dermis layer

Drawbacks
very expensive and painful, unknown side effect loss fat/volume making problem worse

Details
Am 38 years old. Fair skin. mild rosaca, fairly good complexion, most people think I am in my late 20's. Had the procedure done 5 months ago, to tighten skin and lift brow. Got full face as all doctors told me this would improve acne and rosacea and good maintenance at my age. By 3 months noticed my skin looking worse. Found out this was due to the level of energy was set too high for my skin type which is fair. This causes the thermage to go deeper then the dermis layer into the subquetaneous fat layer. It heats the fat and over the course of months the fat cells die leaving dimpling and an overall fat loss making you looker thinner and showing the underlying structures of the face. Not very attractive. I lost my cheeks. This thinning caused all the areas I thought I would get improvement to look worse and now I look more aged. Eyes look worse, deeper wrinkles. Many women are experiencing this beside myself. Website makemeheal.com has many horror stories. Very sorry I did it as now I didn't really need. Tried this over topicals as my skin is very sensitive and cannot use antiaging without significant irritation.

Conclusions
Stay away from this tx. It is much more risky then they admit. True damage can occur.
