The consistency is thick enough to prevent over-application - this was one of the selling points - but in a way so thick that you have to stretch your skin to get it to absorb. I have never had an eye cream that really wouldn't work into the skin before; it's quite frustrating. Because it's so difficult to get it to absorb, it will bead up after about an hour and little flakes will be visible under the eyes. I went to the Kiehl's counter to buy my regular eye cream - the gel with vitamin E - and the clerk convinced me to buy this one instead. Huge mistake: it's twice the price and not moisturizing at all.

Conclusions
Get a sample before purchasing. This may work for some but definitely not for me.
