Skin Care Review: MD Formulations Vit-A-Plus Illuminating Serum

by Sara Boratav, Melbourne, Australia

Rating
Good

Benefits
Makes a visible difference in a short period of time

Drawbacks
Very expensive in Australia. Mild tingling for a few minutes after application

Details
I recently moved to Australia from Europe. I arrived here in February (Australian summer)and foolishly continued using a retinoid cream for fine lines. Even though I used SPF 30+ every two hours and tried to always wear a hat, I wound up with patches of obvious, brown discolourations on my forehead, temples, cheekbones and sides of my nose. I tried to make an appointment with a dermatologist asap but was given a two month wait (3 weeks to go)as they are usually very booked up. Desperate to do something, I started searching the internet for cosmetics reviews to lead me in the right direction. I came upon MD Formulations Vit-A-Plus Illuminating Serum. It claimed to diminish the discolourations quickly and had some pretty good reviews. I ordered it from a Melbourne-based website and recieved it the next day and began using it. I put it on the affected areas and then applied a moisturiser. I have to say that in the month I have been using it, my brown areas have started to break up and fade. Other skin treatments take weeks longer to produce a result. I didn't expect to have perfect skin in a month, that would be unrealistic, but at least the brown patches are no longer the first thing I notice when I look in the mirror and when I do finally get in to see the dermatologist there might have been enough fading to avoid major intervention.

Conclusions
Visible results in a short amount of time made this worth the expense.
