Skin Care Review: Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion

by Anonymous

Rating
Excellent

Benefits
Light, nice scent.

Drawbacks
no SPF protection.

Details
I have oily, combination skin. I've been using this product for 2 yrs and haven't found another product in the same price range that compares to it.

It's light. Just a few dabs (the size of the circumference of a Bic pen) will cover my whole face. But what I like most is how it soaks in almost immediately, w/o that filmy, residue that I get from drugstore products (ie, oil of olay, ponds). Kinerase has a moisturizer that soaks in immediately as well, but it costs over twice as much. Morning and night applications have protected my face from the arid Southern California air these past few yrs.

I also like the slight vanilla scent. Researchers have stated that vanilla is the highest ranking, most soothing scent to both men and women testing participants.

My only complaint is there's no SPF protection. What good is it to put on an airy, light moisturizer and then have to heap on a layer of sunscreen thereafter? Sort of defeats the purpose (and extra cost) of choosing the lightest cream you can find. I often go w/o sunscreen if I don't expect to spend more than and hour in direct sunlight.

Conclusions
At $29 for 1.7 oz (50 ml), this product is just as good as Kinerase at but half the cost.
