Skin Care Review: Ponds Dry Skin Cream

by Maura Billeaux, Scottsdale, AZ usa

Rating
Excellent

Benefits
overnight moisturizing- thick enough to stay on face for overnight. very affordable

Drawbacks
No SPF. Also Product is sometimes difficult to find in stores.

Details
I've lived in dry climates (Denver for 12 years and now Scottsdale Arizona for 1 year). I moisturize around the clock. Ponds Dry Skin Cream is thick enough to stay on overnight. It is low on dyes, so it won't stain bedding. Also low in fragrance, so it doesn't burn my skin. I mix the product with DMAE, and find the 2 products blends well and create a great non-sagging skin treatment.

Because the product does not contain any SPF agents, if I use the product during the day, I apply sunscreen also. After using the product for about a year, I’ve noticed a difference in my skin. I have tighter pores and a glowing tone. I’ve tried several other face creams since, and have been unsatisfied. Other treatments are too thin to stay on at night. In addition, the other creams burn and irritate my skin, due to all the additional ingredients, such as fragrance and ‘who know’s what ‘.

Ponds dry skin cream is so inexpensive at 5 dollars for a 6.5 ounce jar. The container is plastic, so I don’t worry about broken glass if I travel. I’ve found it most available at WalMart. On a recent shopping trip to Walgreen’s, the product was not available. I am concerned that the low price might be driving potential purchasers. We get so used to high priced products, the lower priced products make us question the effectiveness of the product.

The best feature of the product is the ease with which it can be mixed with DMAE. I purchase the liquid version from an online vitamin store. The Ponds is thick enough to be diluted easily, while maintaining its consistency.

Conclusions
Affordable, thick, gentle on face, easily combined with liquid DMAE.
