My dermatologist recommended this lotion when I showed him my shiny, very dry, flaky shins. I have this problem every winter and if I ever use the heater in the car aimed at my legs on a cold day, the itchiness turns to real pain, the skin in that area is that dry. I think circulation to this area is especially weak when you get older, so little fluid makes its way to the epidermis of the shin. I was hoping for a miracle lotion that would exfoliate the dead cells, something that would make this skin as moist as the skin on my tummy, but the theraplex does a good job of moisturizing, and keeps the worst symptoms (painful itchiness) from developing.

Conclusions
Use if your skin is delicate but not seriously dehydrated, cracked or peeling.
