I have a mild form of ichthyosic that has caused major flaky skin over my body since I was a child. I live in sunny california because winters were to damaging. I've tried MANY lotions and most helped a little, hiding and slowing the flaking. I tried AmLactin on the advice of a dermitologist. The results were amazing and quick. Within 2 weeks the flakes were mostly all gone - the first time in my life. Within a couple months, all flaking was gone and my skin was smooth. There was a little initial pinkness (I'm very fair skinned), but that went stopped after a month. There is also a very slight but odd odor after putting it on, but it fades fast.

This is best for flakey skin. If you only need a good moisturizer, then other products (I like Curel) would be better.

Conclusions
Best for flakey skin. Average moisturizer.
