I took three to laser hair removal to get rid of unwanted facial hair on upper lip and the tip of the chin.

I'm a twenty-something male, Nordic ethnicity, with a Fitzpatrick scale of approximately 2 to 3 (never tanned).

Due to dark hair and fair skin, I should have been an optimal laser hair removal patient. Unfortunately, the effects were not permanent: the majority of the hair grew back in a few months. Only a few permanently bald "spots" were left on the chin.

After three treatments, I studied the literature more carefully, and came to the conclusion that laser hair removal's efficacy is still far from perfect. (Notably, there have been reports of temporarily increased hair growth, which scared me quite a bit.)

Due to lack of efficacy of laser hair removal, I'm now considering electrolysis (an older, more painful procedure, but perhaps with surer results.)

Conclusions
Cheap and simple, but no panacea.
