A local beauty salon performed electrolysis on my upper lip and between my eyebrows--it was quite painful, especially close to the lip. I thought the results would be worth it, though, as waxing, depilatory creams etc were causing irritation and preventing me from using the skincare products I was using on the rest of my face. After some initial soreness, the skin quickly settled down and I was hopeful that in time I would be free of the inconvenience of depilation altogether. My beautician recommended 15 minute treatments once a fortnight, which I went to for several months and there was a great diminution of growth in the areas treated. On the last occasion, though, an inexperienced practitioner carried out the procedure and burned my face badly--I still have small but visible scars where she inserted the needle.

Conclusions
Always ask for an experienced person to do the procedure. It does work, though.
