I have had sclerotherapy and laser for treatment of spider veins and varicose veins. I have had better results from the sclerotherapy. The laser treatment was also used on age spots on the back of my hands. This worked very well. It does cause some discomfort because it is basically burning it off, but the results were good and they have lasted. It does not keep other spots from coming back, though, just as the sclerotherapy and laser treatments for legs does not keep other veins from forming. Surprisingly enough, I had more discomfort from the laser treatment than the needles from the sclerotherapy although this may have been due to the inexperience of my doctor. Bottom line, be sure the doctor you choose has had lots of experience in what he is doing. I live in a small town and this was a friend. He is a very good surgeon but was just learning this procedure. With either of these procedures, the time to heal from the scars is months. Do not have this done in May and expect to be by the pool in June. I would recommend having these procedures done in fall or winter so your legs will be fully healed.

Conclusions
I did not have good results from laser treatment for varicose and spider veins.
