I've had Becky, a Cosmetic Consultant and Licensed Aesthetician, affiliated with Dr. Forrest Brown, my dermatological surgeon, treat me several times with IPL. The treatments have been for brown pigmentation and for red capillaries, which are concentrated on and around my nose, my chin, and my temples where I had skin cancer surgery.

The treatments for red pigment are more painful than I expected, especially on my neck/throat area, but we don't use topical anesthetic. The red pigment takes a more intense light to be effective.

These treatments normally require 3-6 sessions per pigment type. I'm receiving a reduced price on a package of treatments.

I've noticed real improvement with brown pigmentation--I've gotten two treatments on my face for brown pigment, and one on my throat. The red capillaries are harder to treat--I've also gotten two facial and one throat treatment for red; there's less improvement, but it's gotten better on my chin and around my nose.

Conclusions
Becky's great and the IPL works for brown spots and red veins.
