I went to Dr. Bateman because I had used a tanning bed for a couple of years in the summer. I am fair skinned and 48. I went for just a few minutes each time. I was not trying to get a dark tan, just a little color. I had a spot come up on the front of my thigh that had not been there. It itched at times. The doctor took a biopsy and sent it off to be tested. In a few days she called to say it was Basal Cell! I went back in and she did cryosurgery to remove it. She went deeper to be sure she got it all. Today it is whiter than the rest of my thigh. I have not tanned since and am now into sunscreen. I have another appt in the next month. Another small spot has come up near the first one.

Conclusions
I recommend all unusual spots be checked.
