I was 51 when I had this work done. I am caucasian, medium dark skin, most of my problems were eye bags and jowl sagging.

I had several procedures done at the same time. I had upper and lower blephorplasty, brow lift, mid face sling, and a breast augmentation.

I was very pleased with the work on my upper and lower eyes. It opened up my eyes, and got rid of dark circles and pads under my eyes, which were the thing that bothered me the most.

The recovery was not painful, just irritating. The one eye was dry for quite awhile. The tape was irritating.

The brow lift was a disappointment. It was not enough. I have since read that some recommend that brow lifts be done later if upper lid surgery is done. This would probably make it cost more, though. I think i would have asked him to show me just how high the brow would be lifted. I did have the muscles between the brows weakened. In retroppect, I would have asked him to weaken the forehead muscles. as I really need botox for them, but it is too expensive to do regularly.

The mid face work made a lot of difference, but again, I think it was too conservative. I later had filler put in nasal labial folds.

I should have shopped around and talked to more doctors.

Overall, if one is going to spend that kind of money, I would be sure to get everything covered.

I also later had a chemical peel. In my opinion, it was a total waste of money. I saw almost no difference. I would do my own peel if I was going to do it again (which I probably will.)

The doctor was not real easy to talk too. I would shop around more next time. I got really excited, and did not get more than one consultation. I would do so, in the future.

I would totally have plastic surgery again though, when I can afford to. I want another brow lift, and probably later a neck lift.

It is not painful, the breast deal was nothing at all, and it totally changed my self concept. I am 53, I wish I had had done my breats in my 20's. I think plastic surgery can totally transform ones own self image.

Now I am looking for a topical that will really work as a botox alternative, and would like to try my hand at making my own.

Conclusions
get two opinions. Be sure enough lift will be done. I recommend surgery.
