I am 38 years old and have 2 children 4 and 6. I have a fair complexion. I have always had trouble with acnevulgaris on my neck and around my mouth, but was able to control it with topical creams. While I was pregnant and nursing, I stopped all treatments per doctor recommendations. Well, my acne was okay for a while, I just tolerated it. Then, in December, it actually hurt, it was so inflamed. My skin was so oily with a few hours of washing it. I tried all products with salicylic acid by Arbonne at the same time plus The body SHop's tea tree wash. None helped. Then, the primary care doctor gave me oxy wash- on e with benzoyl peroxide and one with salicylic acid, plus a prescription clindamycin (antibiotic cream). It moderately helped. It decreased redness and helped decrease the intensity, but the breakouts were still there. Then the dermatologist gave me Retin-A at night, Aknemycin in the morning and wash with a sulfur-sulbactam wash (antibiotic). I couldn't tolerate oral antibiotics, so he gave me the wash with it in it. My skin looks great. It is less oily and rarley has one or two break outs. The texture has improved and it doesn't hurt from break outs.
