Rating Good
Benefits
Removed pre-cancerous spots that had the potential to turn ugly.
Drawbacks
Left scars that took quite some time to fade.
Details I am in my fifties, with normal to oily skin, and a fair complextion. When I was young it was common to spend a lot of time in the sun, without using sunblock. Used things like baby oil with iodine to try to get a better color. Occasionally I would use zinc oxide on my nose, as it would get so burnt. Had many times that it blistered up, and looked like leather, after falling asleep on the beach. Suprising that I do not have more damage, for all the hours that I spent doing this sunbathing. My nose looked so bad after one cryosurgery, and it took quite a bit of time to fade. Other spots were removed, but didn't take so long to heal. Have been using sunblock on a regular basis now, but I occasionally stay out too long.
Conclusions
Use lots of sunblock, and avoid tanning in the sun, or articially in booths.
