Benefits
Restylane injections under eyes helped to lessen the appearance of "bags" under my eyes.

Drawbacks
Brusing and swelling under my eyes lasted 7-10 days.

The bags under my eyes were becoming more pronounced and I really had a problem with them. Dr.Lacombe explained that as I age (I am 55 y.o.) the skin tissue under the bags had shrunk/ shifted which caused the fat under my eyes to look like bags. The Restylane filled in the sunken area which diminished the look of the bags. Because my bags were fairly pronounced, my under eye area is not 100% smooth, but it is a big improvement. Dr.Lacombe explained too much Restylane would have to injected to completely get rid of my bags. He said if I wanted more improvement, I should consider surgery to remove some of the fat from under by eyes. Then the Restylane injections would be able to fill out the sunken areas. I don't like the idea of having surgery, but I have not ruled it out. When I look in the mirror, I feel a lot better about my appearance now that I have had the Restylane treatment, and I feel it has helped by self confidence. The big negative to the Restylane was the brusing and swelling. Pre treatment, the doctor's office made it sound like most people don't experience brusing or swelling, and if you do get swelling, icing will correct it quickly. Well, I had swelling that lasted 7 days in spite of lots of icing and bruising which lasted 10 days. I certainly was not prepared for this! The pre-treatment novocaine injections were nasty, the Restylane injections uncomfortable even with the novocaine. In spite of the bruising and swelling and uncomfortable nature of the procedure, I don't want to go back to bags!

Conclusions
I would do it again and recommend Restylane injections for baggy eyes.
