Benefits
Used liquid nitrogen to remove actinec keratoses on face, arms and shoulders.

Drawbacks
Very expensive prescription caused acne breakout everywhere it was used.

Details
During annual exam Dr. froze several spots of actinec keratoses from my arms, face and shoulders and told me I had 'that type of skin that would always get red and/or dry spots'. He suggested a prescription cream that I could use on red and dry spots. It turned out to be Elocon. I used it for about a 10 days then realized it was causing red bumps everywhere I used it. I called the office and asked if I was to use this cream on the spots he had frozen or other dry or red spots or both and explained that it was causing red bumps. I never heard back from the office and tried stopping and starting the cream several times while waiting to hear from them. Finally, I realized something was wrong and went to a new Dr. who told me to stop using the Elocon and started me on antibiotics. I am still on antibiotics to clear up this acne outbreak. (When I went home I looked Elocon up on the web and found the generic term Mometasone Furoate has side effects such as acne-like pimples and allergic skin rash.). Even though I stopped using it twice, I doubted myself and while waiting for over two weeks to hear back from the Dr., I re-started using the cream again and caused more problems.

Conclusions
Change Drs. when you do not receive prompt information and feedback.
