Upon my first visit to the Clinique, Nadina Lanza (esthetician/clinician) did a free consultation with a full comprehensive evaluation of my skin, nutrition, skin care regiment, exercise, and expectations. I am in my twenties and my main concern was to develop a skin care regiment that worked for my skin type and find out what I could do better to prevent damage and improve the overall look of my skin (so that I don't need a face lift in 15 years). I wanted to minimize the appearance of my forehead wrinkles (such as when you look surprised) as well. Nadina provided me with a list of changes I need to incorporate including drinking more water, using sunscreen with Zinc Oxide daily, taking more Vitamin C, Calcium, and Omega-3. She explained my skin was confused and needed some direction. I did away with the harsh cleansers and started using some natural foods (fruits, oatmeal, etc) as my new facial treatments. I invested in some Vitamin K eye cream to reduce puffiness and dark circles. I immediately started noticing a positive difference in my skin. She had my follow up with her 4 weeks later and at this second visit I had my first session of Microderm abrasion (full face) and IPL (just forehead, around eyes and scar). It took about 1.5 hours and aside from some minor discomfort during the IPL treatment, it was completely painless. Within three to five days I noticed more evenness to my skin and the wrinkles seemed to have smoothed. My face had a "glow" to it. I continued my new regiment and followed up with 2 more treatments of microderm/IPL (4 weeks apart) and noticed improvement after each visit. Now, after this series of three treatments, I will need to follow up about every 6 months for 1 treatment. Each visit costs around $250. Although the IPL treatments didn't take away the wrinkles as much as we hoped, the wrinkles are smoother and my scar is much less noticible. The overall improvement in my skin and especially the knowledge I obtained from my treatments with Nadina, make it worth every penny. I would recommend anyone to go and have at least the free consultation visit with her. She will honestly tell you what products/treatments in your current regiment are wasting your money and provide some simple, cost effective things you can do to improve your skin and overall health.

Conclusions
Expensive but worth it - Preventative care now, will save me in the long run.
