Diet Tip: Diet with weekend relief

submitted by Dawna, CO USA

I've done this for many years to keep weight down. I watch very carefully what I eat during the work week. I monitor my calories, the size of helpings etc. I don't "count" calories or weigh food, I just use good sense and stay away from fast food, and try to eat a balanced diet. I can do this because on the weekend I will allow my self to indulge a little. I'll have that brownie I craved all week, or go out to eat and eat SOME of that rich food I have difficulty refusing. Knowing all week long that if I want to I can splurge a little on the weekend, doesn't make it seem like a diet. I'm just waiting until my time to enjoy, and I do enjoy food. I've had difficulty with my weight going up and down, but when I stick to this way of eating, I have more success.
