Cosmetics / Makeup Tip: Oil-Blotting Tissues

submitted by Carolyn Hart, Merced, CA USA

Tip description / details:
I've struggled with oily skin for years. An hour after washing my face, I notice oily shine on my nose and forehead, which is much worse in the summer. I used to purchase "oil blotting tissues" from a variety of manufacturers. Usually, these cost about $6-10 for 50 sheets. It takes 2 sheets to blot my face, and in the peak of the summer I might use 5 sheets per day. I recently found a cost-effective do-it-yourself solution for my shiny skin. I take plain white gift-wrapping tissue (the cheapest variety is the best) and cut it into 4" x 4" squares, which I keep in a small coin purse. They are inexpensive and really work well to erase oily shine.

Ingredients:
Gift-wrapping tissue

How to prepare:
Cut it into 4" x 4" squares

How to use:
Blot oily skin as needed

Results (observed by submitter):
Great looking skin, reduced acne breakouts, and no more shine!

Costs involved:
Less than 1$
