Skin Care Tip: Sun damage on legs

submitted by Elizabeth Russo, Schenectady, NY USA

Sun exposure over the years has caused numerous brown, textured spots, as well as, a more overall brown mottled appearance (old looking) on my legs. I saw a dermatologist about it and she conducted lasering on the spots which did little to minimize the marks and left me with very red pigmentation for about a year. More recently I started using a callous exfoliator for feet (over the counter) on my legs. There are various brand names available at drug stores and I apply it 2X per day after washing, shaving and sometimes loofahing my legs. The brown mottling stuff is virtually gone and my legs have the original lightly pink colored skin of years ago. I also used wart remover on some of the spots and it is peeling them off in layers. Just be careful to go slow with this latter part. I plan to use copper peptide cream for the healing of the spots where they were into the tissue deeper. This is still a work in progress. I then apply organic coconut oil to my legs for moisturizing. This is the first time, in years, that I feel hopeful about my legs. They look so much younger.
