Skin Care Tip: Tips for sensitive rosacea

submitted by cheryl, newb, IN usa

Tip description / details:
I have rosacea and found that many products either burn or clog up my pores, especially silicones. I realized that the least amount of ingredients in a product is better and also discovered that pure oil patted onto my face worked better as a moisturizer and yet didn't clog my pores at all. Pure grapeseed oil is cheap, is full of natural good stuff, doesn't irritate, and doesn't clog my pores. I was my face and then pat it until it is just damp and then apply the grapeseed oil. I wait a few minutes and pat off any that didn't absorb. I also wanted one of those really popular "water mist sprays" to lightly moisturize my face but they all contained products that would irritate. So I bought some Peg 7 olivate (olive oil based emulsifier) and added a bit to some purified water that I had added a few drops of vegetable glycerin, aloe, and grapeseed oil. I make a small batch of this at a time and keep it in my refrigerator to avoid having to use preservatives that can also aggravate my skin.

Ingredients:
Face spray: purified water, glycerin, grapeseed, aloe, peg 7. Small sprayer from artist dept at craft store

How to prepare:
Boiled water and allowed to cool then poured into tiny mister. Added drops of glycerin, aloe, grapeseed, and peg 7. Shake hard to blend.

How to use:
After washing face or whenever you need a pick me up, spray on face

Results (observed by submitter):
Great. Light moisturizer with no burning, redness, or clogged pores

Costs involved:
