Skin Care Tip: Preserving skin hydration

submitted by Laurie Vukich, South Jordan, UT USA

To maintain moisture in the skin, it's important to understand that even water is drying to the skin.

Before showering, swimming, or exposing the skin to water, apply a good lubricating moisturizer, which will act as a barrier to help protect the moisture in your skin.

I live in a dry climate and do this all the time. It makes a huge difference. I also work as a film make-up artist, and deal with actors whose skin tends to dry. When I've recommended this, they have also seen great improvement in the moisture of their skin.
