Skin Care Tip: Alpha lipoic acid

submitted by Lerna Goins, Indianapolis, IN USA

Tip description / details:
A few months ago while grocery shopping in my favorite health food store I passed by the book section. "The Wrinkle Cure" by Dr. Perricone caught my eye and I started skimming through the book, I didn't buy the book because so many claims are made by so many companies, it is confusing and I did not want to spend money on something I was unsure of. However, I was really intrigued by the information on alpha lipoic acid so I jotted it down and went to the supplement section and bought a bottle just as a lark. I was so sure that it would not work and that I was wasting $20. I had tried several creams in the past and they did not make a difference, how would taking a supplement help? To my surprise after taking the alpha lipoic acid for only 3 days I saw a big difference in my skin. The texture had softened dramatically and my pores had actually shrunk. I could not believe the difference. I asked my husband if I was seeing things, but he agreed that my skin looked 10 years younger. I was so sure that I as I aged my skin would do nothing but deteriorate, the opposite is true. Needless to say, I purchased "The Wrinkle Cure" and I have been taking the less expensive supplements recommended, today my skin looks better than ever!

alpha lipoic acid

1 to 2 pills daily
