Homemade Skin Care Recipe: Remedy for pimples and ingrown hairs

submitted by Ilaria, New York, NY USA

Tip description / details:
The best way to get rid of the redness and inflammation associated with pimples and ingrown hairs is to make a paste of crushed aspirin and water and apply it to the affected areas(s). The main ingredient in the aspirin, acetylsalicylic acid, is similar to the active ingredient in many other pimple creams, but is a more concentrated form. The use of the aspirin is also a cheap alternative to buying a pimple cream, as you probably already have a bottle of aspirin at home in your medicine cabinet.

Ingredients:
1 aspirin (crushed); enough water to make a paste

How to prepare:
Simply crush an aspirin and add enough water to make a creamy paste.

How to use:
Apply the paste to the affected area(s). This is to be done preferably at night before going to sleep and removed in the morning by simply washing your face as normal.

Results (observed by submitter):
It gets rid of redness and brings down the swelling associated with ingrown hairs and pimples.

Costs involved:
