Homemade Skin Care Recipe: Getting Rid of Dry Skin Naturally

submitted by Sandra A. Murphy, Columbus, OH USA

Tip description / details:
I am a 55 year old woman whose skin has always been relatively "good" smooth and without wrinkles. It is probably more genes than skin care because my 80 year old mother still has lovely skin with very few wrinkles. However, both me and my sister who is 47 years young, have recently started having very dry skin problems including itching and scaliness. I believe this is due to menopause as well as natural aging. We tried a lot of different lotions and potions and not much worked. So I researched some natural ways to help us soften and moisturize the skin.

Ingredients:
For facial: one banana, 2 tablespoons of honey, one egg yolk; For body wash: 4 cups of used coffee grinds, warm water

How to prepare:
For facial, mix ripened banana with two tablespoons of honey and one egg yolk. For body rinse, mix 4 cups of used coffee grinds and bit of warm water

How to use:
For facial, apply banana mix onto face, let set 10 minutes, rinse with warm water, follow with cold water rinse, apply regular moisturizer. For coffee body rinse, gently rub coffee grinds onto body, rinse in shower with warm water. Do both at least once weekly.

Results (observed by submitter):
Tried it. It worked well for me. My facial skin looks much clearer and wrinkles are less noticeable. The skin on my arms, torso and legs are nowhere near as dry and itchy. Did this for about a month to get my results.
