Weight Loss Tip: Great breakfast for losing weight

submitted by Madeline Bordasch, Tucson, AZ USA

I have found an excellent breakfast that provides a very healthy well-balanced meal and one that keeps you feeling full till lunchtime. Make one serving of oatmeal, using old-fashioned oats and all milk, no water (1/2 cup of oats to 1 cup of 1 or 2% milk) and serve with 1 cup of fresh or frozen fruit (e.g. mixed berries, bananas & strawberries, peaches, etc.) To save time in the mornings, I prepare a large batch of the oatmeal using 8 cups of oats and a gallon of milk. I divide this into 16 plastic freezer containers and freeze them. I thaw out a few at a time as needed & warm the oatmeal in the microwave. Not only does this breakfast help with weight loss or maintenance, it also helps lower your cholesterol.

Eating this breakfast along with a well-balanced lunch & dinner, I was able to lose 20 lbs and didn't feel hungry.
