Weight Loss Tip: Mind over matter in dieting

submitted by Anne

When you are dieting never concentrate on the entire amount of weight loss that you want to achieve. Even if it is only 5 or 10 lbs. It is much better to tell yourself that this week you would like to lose one pound. This is a very realistic goal and you won't feel overwhelmed at the total amount. I have also found that if I visualize the scale dropping down it helps me stay on track.

A great deal of dieting is in our heads not in our bellies. A positive attitude, visualization, and an achievable goal are all ingredients for success. Last but not least, don't give up if you have had a bad day or week. Just pick yourself up and start again!

I have lost 50 lbs. and kept it off for one year and counting. If I can do it so can you!
