I'm a 41 year old male who has suffered from acne over most of my life. As an infant, I experienced severe acne resulting in moderate scaring on my cheeks. The acne was worst in my late teens and then receded but never really went away. I tried Tetratycline, Accutane and Retin A with modest results. I have exceptionally oily, thick, dark colored skin even though I am mostly of Germanic origin with dark blond hair and blue eyes. I have never sunburned and don't have a single freckle or discolouration on my face. A dermatologist first prescribed Tazorac four years ago. I immediately noticed a reduction in acne, especially black heads. Over the next 6 months or so the scaring on my cheeks improved immensely and my complexion took on a very healthy, almost glowing appearance. I use the 0.5% cream every second night. The only side effect is occasional irritation, which resolves if I avoid the Tazorac for a few days. I have noticed no increase sun sensitivity. For the first time in my life, I actually appreciate the skin tone I inherited from my mother. With the acne gone and scarring much reduced, I am grateful for my dark, even toned and wrinkle free complexion. She had similar coloration, resistance to the sun and minimal aging, but her acne was nowhere near as bad as mine. I recently started treating my back acne with Tazrac and am seeing similar results.

Conclusions
Wish I new about Tazorac years ago. For me, it has been a miracle drug.
