Skin Care Review: Neutrogena Deep Clean Cream Cleanser

by Astrid, Australia

Rating
Good

Benefits
Creamy acne-clearing cleanser, works efficiently at removing larger/grouped blemishes

Drawbacks
Too harsh for dry or sensitive skin, may cause peeling/irritation, inconsistent

Details
I have used the Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleanser multiple times over the past year and a half and I found it worked quite well at clearing the pimples on my forehead.

It failed to clear the blackheads on my nose and chin - which would be what one would expect from a cleanser that supposedly 'deep-cleaned' - and caused peeling around my nose if I used it twice a day. It left my cheeks glowy, but quite tight/dry and I required more moisturiser on them than usual.

I have combination skin and I break out on my forehead, with blackheads on my nose and chin, and clear-as-could-be cheeks. Sadly the Deep Clean Cleanser left my nose red and shiny, much like the many other products I've used in the past.

I would recommend the Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleanser to those that want a fairly inexpensive, thick and creamy easy-to-use cleanser for clearing mild to moderate breakouts on the face. I do not advise those with sensitive or dry skin to use this cleanser as it may cause irritation due to its harsher formula.

Conclusions
Good for oily skin/acne, not recommended for dry/sensitive skin.
