Skin Care Review: BenzaClin clindamycin-benzoyl peroxide gel

by Jeffrey LeBaron, Cedar Park, TX USA

Rating
Satisfactory

Benefits
I did notice that my skin had less blemishes after using the product for a few weeks.

Drawbacks
Itchy, redness, peeling, and drying out of my skin.

Details
I have had very oily skin my entire life. I am a 43 year old male with a good diet, and I workout and exercise at least three times per week. My problem areas are my nose and the skin to either side of my nose. I am always dealing with blackheads, and it seems like every single pore is always filled with sebum. I have been on different oral medicines, as well as trying topicals like Clearasil, Benzoyl Peroxide 5%, and some other TV promotions like Proactin. I have never been 100% satisfied, and after using this product, I must still say the same. I used the BenzaClin twice per day--once in the morning and once in the night. After three weeks of using the product regularly, I closely examined my nose, and it seemed to be the same as before I used the product. Then, I expressed every pore, and continued to use the product for another week. Still, every pore on my nose seemed to be full. At the present time, I have discontinued the BenzaClin. Also be aware: wash your hands thoroughly after applying. If any of the gel (cream) is left on your hands and you wipe them on a colored towel, it will bleach the color--I know, I ruined a whole set of purple towels until I realized what I was doing.

Conclusions
It did not solve my problem, and I think it is too expensive.
