Skin Care Review: Isotretinoin by Roche

by Laura

Rating
Excellent

Benefits
Get a normal skin, spot-free

Drawbacks
major adverse effects especialy during first months of treatment

Details
Take daily with your fattest meal

ON PRESCRIPTION – READ LEAFLET CAREFULLY – DON’T GET PREGNANT – REGULAR LIVER TESTS REQUIRED

It works! It works extremely well, you get a totally new, normal, spot free and even almost maintenance-free skin Only problem, you will have severe side effects the first two months or so, but those will go away as your body finds a new balance So, how to survive those first months:

- stop using strong anti-blemish products; maybe this will cause acne to worsen the first weeks, but will prevent irritating your skin even more than the pills do

- a moisturising OTC anti-blemish crème that is not to irritating is better

- adjust your skin treatment on a day-by-day basis, use a moisturising crème for severally dry skin if needed, wash less and use body lotion for the rest of your body

- ALWAYS use sun protection

- if nothing seems to help and everything irritates your skin, use the crème you normally use to put on wounds and burns, ok, it is very sticky, so only use it at night, and maybe it can cause some blackheads, but at least it will soothe your skin without irritating it

- take special care of your lips: put on lip balm very, very frequently, and switch brands regularly (that goes also for all skin products, if you switch regularly, less chance of developing skin irritation or allergy caused by a product and you will find out with products are best for you) for using at night, I like Lutsine Xeramance by Boots Heathcare (specially designed for using with vitamin A preparations), cures cracked lips and also tarred lip corners very fast (overnight sometimes), disadvantage: it is white, sticky and tastes bad

- never-ever use creams containing cortisone or other steroids, those make your entire skin thinner (you only want a slightly thinner epidermis, and the treatment will do that- why do you think it is so irritated) and they cause outbreaks So, handle your skin with care, best to keep getting some spots in the beginning of your treatment than to ruin your skin

- the spots will go away, your skin will get as beautiful you dreamed it would be, but –please for your own sake- make sure you still have a skin until that time

Conclusions
Take the product as prescribed be patient and take care of your skin
