Skin Care Review: Allergan Prevage

by Mary M, London, UK

Rating
No effect

Benefits
none.

Drawbacks
very drying. very pricey. unpleasant smell and yellow color.

Details
After reading how this anti-oxidant formula was suppose to work wonders, I decided to try it and used it regularly for three months. I applied it morning and evening, sometimes with an added moisturizer, but often on it's own.

I've never been so underwhelmed by a skin care product. The actual serum is a dark/bright yellow color with a very odd odour. The yellow color does not blend easily into your skin, and so if yellow undertones do not suit your skin type, I'd especially avoid this.

I had read where some people experienced violent rashes. I did not have this problem, however, at times it did seem to make my skin feel slighty itchy but that may have been due to the drying effect of the product. I used this product over three months in winter, maybe I would have had better luck in the summer months.

I have not only not noticed an improvement, but my skin has looked better with $10 drug store moisturizers. There is no moisture in the formula, and as it was so drying it seemed to actually accentuate the fine lines around my eyes. If you use this, you'll still need to invest in a good moisturizer on top of the hefty price you'll pay for Prevage.

I am 35, and after three months my skin looked no better even with regular consistent use. It may be that the anti-oxidant does prevent damage that has not happened, but this product seemed to do absolutely nothing for repairing what slight signs of ageing already existed.

I thought overall it was a huge waste of money. I do not recommend Prevage to anyone, for the money there are so many better options available.

Conclusions
not worth it.
