I tried Retin A for approximately four weeks and was not happy with the results. I was never told not to use exfoliating products or facial hair bleach, both of which exacerbated the redness and irritation that I developed when using this product. In addition, I was never informed that I could not have my eyebrows waxed either. My facialist would not perform the eyebrow wax on anyone using Retin A, as the result would be similar to that of a razor slicing off the top layers of skin. I did not feel there were any visibile changes in the appearance of my skin that were beneficial, only redness and irritation.

In hindsight, I have discovered that some people use the Retin A only every other night or an even milder version of the product, Renova, every other night.

This alternative, however, was not one I opted for, as there were no beneficial results from the product that were sufficient for the trade-off of not being able to have my eyebrows waxed. There has to be a better, less irritating product that will allow me to continue my eybbrow waxing, as well as provide some visible anti-aging results.
